Shahnawaz Mian receives science prize from Sparkasse Vest Recklinghausen.

Shahnawaz Mian, student of the Finance Center Münster, is one of the five winners of the Sparkasse Vest Recklinghausen Science Promotion Award, which was awarded in August 2021. He received the award for his master's thesis, which he wrote on "An empirical analysis of the determinants of interest rate adjustment behavior by credit institutions" under the supervision of Professor Dr. Andreas Pfingsten at the Chair of Banking. Dr. Michael Schulte (left), Chairman of the Board of the Sparkasse, and Project Manager Dirk van Buer congratulated him warmly.

Deutsche Bundesbank awards prizes for theses

The head office of Deutsche Bundesbank in NRW has been cooperating with the Institute of Banking for many years. Hence, the president, Margarete Müller, did not miss the opportunity to give a video presentation in the lecture "Financial Intermediation II" by Johannes Kriebel on July 8.

Münster Banking Days 2021

On May 6 and 7, 2021, the Münster Banking Days took place in digital format for the first time. High-ranking representatives from the field gathered to discuss pressing issues in the banking world. The impact of Covid-19 was addressed, as well as topics such as digital transformation and changing customer needs. From different perspectives, "Banks' responses to current challenges" were critically examined and discussed.

Registration for IFK exams

Dear students,

for both the winter semester 2019/20 and the summer semester 2020, the inspections of the exams of the Institute of Banking will take place on 13 and 14 October 2020, from 8.00 a.m. to 18.00 p.m.

Due to the special situation, this time inspection is only possible with prior registration!
