On May 28, 2025, the Finest in Finance program of the University of Münster had the pleasure of visiting the office of Provinzial in Münster for an in-depth event on risk management in the insurance sector. The day focused on how insurers assess and navigate risks, particularly those posed by natural catastrophes. Through expert-led presentation and practical group work, the participants developed and evaluated risk models based on real-world scenarios.
Case Studies in Finance

On May 23rd, master students of the Finance Center Münster had the chance to prove their knowledge in the practical workshop. The pension fund for doctors, the Ärzteversorgung Westfalen-Lippe (ÄVWL), hosted the workshop at their office in the port of Münster and presented an exciting case study on planning the project financing of a wind farm. The students developed a scenario analysis and identified value drivers and risk factors to form the basis for a decision about financing the project. Following the lively discussion of the results, a joint dinner took place.
Visit at RSM Ebner-Stolz

On May 14, the members of the Finest in Finance program had the opportunity to visit RSM Ebner Stolz in Cologne. The event offered participants exciting insights into the world of valuation and allowed them to apply theoretical knowledge directly in practice.

Semester Lectures 2025

Presentation of the Science Prize of the Deutsche Bundesbank

As part of Prof. Dr. Christoph Schneider's Financial Intermediation I lecture on May 6, 2025 in the lecture hall building (H2) of the University of Münster, two former Münster students received the Deutsche Bundesbank's Science Prize for their outstanding theses. Both prizes were awarded by the President of the Bundesbank Head Office in NRW, Mr. Christian Otto, following his lecture on “Current challenges for the economy and monetary policy”.
Visit at Alte Leipziger - Hallesche in Oberursel

Last week, the members of the Finest in Finance program had the opportunity to visit the ALH Gruppe in Oberursel. This first event of the summer semester was once again a highlight of the program as it is currently the only event with an overnight stay in a hotel. The two-day program started on Wednesday evening with a dinner at the local brewery. Here, the students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in personal interactions in a more casual atmosphere.

Skiseminar 2025

In mid-March, the traditional Skiseminar of the Finance Center Münster took place in the picturesque Pitztal in Austria. The students kicked off the seminar with an engaging case study by DZ Bank, which focused on corporate lending. The case study provided practical insights into the decision-making processes and requirements involved in corporate financing. Throughout the day, participants enjoyed the opportunity to hit the slopes of the Pitztal Glacier, while engaging in informal networking.
