At the Institute of Management Accounting & Control of the School of Business and Economics at the University of Münster, a position as Research Associate (E 13 TV-L) is to be filled at the earliest possible date. The position is initially limited to three years but will be extended as needed within the scope of your doctoral project. What you can expect:
Our institute conducts research and teaching in the areas of management accounting, corporate governance, performance management, and strategy implementation. Among other things, we address current issues related to corporate transformation, the use of artificial intelligence in management accounting, and the design of incentive systems for corporate governance. Current doctoral projects, for example, deal with the following topics:
We will of course support you in shaping the focus of your dissertation freely according to your interests. You will benefit from a high-quality research infrastructure, including access to numerous databases (e.g., Compustat, Incentive Labs, or Carbon Disclosure Project), an international research network, and various corporate contacts. Regardless of the research topic, it is our ambition to publish results with international visibility and to find answers to questions relevant to practice.

Your tasks:
Alongside your doctoral project, you will take on tasks related to the education and training of our students in the Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Executive MBA programs.
What you should offer:
You have completed, or are about to complete, an excellent university degree (Master of Science, Diplom, or equivalent) in business administration, economics, or a related field. Your studies have given you knowledge in statistical data analysis/econometrics.
You are interested in our areas of focus and in conducting demanding empirical research at an international level. Working in English is natural for you. Furthermore, you are a team player and bring curiosity and openness. Initial practical experience will be regarded positively.
