Our Master's program in Accounting is characterized by the following aspects:

Career opportunities: Whether you're aiming for a leadership role in a corporation, a position in auditing or tax consultancy, a career in management consulting, academic research, or launching your own start-up – studying Accounting in Münster opens doors to a wide range of professional opportunities.

Integrated semester abroad: Most of our students spend a semester abroad at one of our numerous partner universities worldwide.  The credits earned are usually fully recognized as part of the integrated semester abroad – a distinctive feature of the Accounting major.

International: Our Master's program in Accounting can be completed entirely in English, providing students with excellent preparation for a career in the globalized economy. The curriculum is shaped by our internationally oriented and widely published research. At the same time, we address the specific needs of companies operating primarily within Germany — for example, by covering the unique aspects of German accounting and tax regulations.
Focus and specialization: In the Major Accounting there is a wide range of elective and specialization options, for example in the areas of corporate management, sustainability reporting, company valuation and tax planning. Guest lectures by high-ranking company representatives complement and deepen our diverse range of master-level courses.
Reputation: Graduates of the Master of Business Administration with a Major in Accounting enjoy a high level of recognition in business practice and are employed in top positions in companies, consulting firms and research institutions. The Accounting Center at the University of Münster achieved the best possible ranking (5 stars) in Manager Magazin's “Germany's Best Auditors” ranking, making it one of the absolute leaders in Germany. A total of 51 auditing firms and 894 of their clients were surveyed for the ranking.
