Lecture in the new bachelor onboarding model: Examining Spotify's business model from the accounting perspective

With a lot going on at Spotify over the past few years – from its push into podcasts to layoffs and price increases – Martin Artz explained how these decisions have affected Spotify’s business model through its cost and revenue structures and what the rationale behind these decisions was in an interactive lecture that sparked a lively discussion with and among students.

The lecture is part of the new onboarding module of our revamped bachelor’s program in Business Administration, in which a professor from each discipline introduces our new students to the theoretical foundations of his or her field of study. And last week it was our turn to do so on behalf of the Accounting Center Münster.

Each year, the lecture is complemented by a guest talk by a leading business professional to put what the students have learned into perspective. We are already looking forward to welcoming Dieter Kahling, Corporate VP of Sustainability Finance at Henkel, in Münster in four weeks!

A special thank you goes out to Thorsten Hennig-Thurau and his team at the MCM for organizing this special lecture series and their efforts to ensure that everything is running smoothly! Finally, we would like to wish our new bachelor students a great start to their studies here in Münster!
