Bachelor-Onboarding: How Spotify adapts its business model
Has Spotify's push into podcasts paid off? And what other approaches has Spotify considered or implemented on its path to profitability?
Exactly one year and one day after Prof. Martin Artz took a deep dive into Spotify’s business model from an accounting perspective to introduce the topic to our incoming bachelor students at the University of Münster, he picked up right where he left off last year. It was exciting to see the evolution of the lecture and Spotify as a company, with many takeaways for our students. Once again, there was a lively discussion around the lecture evolved, highlighting the important role of management accounting in understanding and evaluating business models.
We already look forward to next year’s developments, but for now we wish our new bachelor students a great start to their studies here in Münster!
