Wrapping up our Master Seminar at the AXA Germany HQ in Cologne

Last Friday, the participants of the master seminar "Predictive Analytics" and our Chair visited the AXA Germany headquarters in Cologne to wrap up the master seminar of the current semester. Throughout their research projects, the participants already had the chance to exchange ideas with various AXA employees from the Management Accounting and the Predictive Analytics departments and were thus able to draw conclusions relevant for research and practice. Hence, the presentation of the final results and recommendations were highly anticipated and turned into a lively discussion between the participants and their respective counterparts at AXA. Further, AXA respresentatives provided insights into the use of PowerBI at AXA and were eager to answer questions from various domains. The long day was completed with a dinner in the relaxing atmosphere at the Deutzer Brauhaus where everyone was able to continue discussions around AI, social responsibility and potential future joint projects.

The week before, the seminar's participants already visisted the AXA HQ in order to prepare their presentations. During that day, they were able to briefly present parts of their final presentation and received valuable feedback both from their peers and AXA representatives. They also provided our participants helpful insights and learnings from practice into effectively presenting financial results based on the premise "a good result also deserves a good story".

We would like to thank all AXA representatives who took the time to welcome us in Cologne and who made the effort to smoothly organize our seminar days at the AXA HQ. We were able to gain interesting insights through their thoughtful comments and their eagerness to discuss every aspect of the topics that came up during the seminar, be it the applicability of certain statistical models or the challenges around digital transformation. Finally, we would also like to thank all participants of our seminar for the engaging presentations and discussions throughout the seminar!
