Exploring the Future of Work at e-HRM 2026

Recently, members of ChanCe participated in the 10th e-HRM International Conference in Münster. Under the theme “Beyond AI: HRM and the Work of the Future,” researchers from around the world came together to discuss how digital technologies are reshaping work, organizations, and human resource management.

As part of the conference program, Letizia Tschetsche presented ongoing research with Julia Backmann and Benedikt Berger on how generative AI is transforming knowledge work in corporate communication. Their findings suggest that GenAI is a powerful creative partner for communication teams: it speeds up content drafting, helps generate new ideas and makes multilingual work a lot easier. At the same time, it reshapes the role of communication professionals. As content creation becomes accessible across the organization, communication professionals are taking on a stronger quality assurance role, ensuring that speed never comes at the cost of brand integrity.

In another session, Matthias Sinnemann presented research with Julia Backmann on digital nomadism, exploring how individuals navigate the opportunities and challenges of combining work and travel in increasingly flexible work environments.

Beyond presenting research, the conference also offered opportunities for scholarly exchange through interactive formats such as the PhD Workshop, in which Letizia participated alongside fellow doctoral researchers to discuss ongoing projects and receive feedback from senior scholars.

A special thank you to Sandy Fisher and Guido Hertel as well as the entire organizing team for organizing this year's conference and creating a platform for discussing the future of work and HRM.

We look forward to bringing back these insights into our research at ChanCe.
