Subject-Specific Requirements:

1) Grade of at least 2.9 according to German Coding Scheme
2) GMAT: Graduate Management Admission Test
3) GRE: Graduate Record Examination
4) CEFR: Common European Framework of Reference for LanguagesDeadlines

  • Bachelor degree

    Admission requirements include a relevant course of study with a standard period of study of at least six semesters (180 ECTS,) which has been completed with a Bachelor's degree or another degree qualifying for admission (diploma, state examination, etc.) with a german grade of at least 2.9.

  • Achievements to be made in Economics/ Mathematics/ Statistics and Business Administration or Top 10% applicant of your cohorte

    At least 30 ECTS in the field of economics, mathematics and statistics are required. In addition, at least 40 ECTS from the field of business administration are required.

    You have less than 40 ECTS credit points in the field of business administration?

    If you have earned over 30 points for economics, maths and statistics, then you can use up to 16 extra ECTS for maths and statistics to offset a points deficit in business administration. A maximum of 16 ECTS can be substituted by additional ECTS in the fields of mathematics or statistics beyond the required 30 ECTS.

    You are a top applicant but do not meet the Achievements to be made in Economics/ Mathematics/ Statistics and Business Administration?

    Candidates who do not fulfill the admission criteria (min. 30 ECTS in Economics/Math/Statistics, min. 40 ECTS in Business Administration) are allowed to participate in the selection process if they belong to the top 10% of their cohorte and officially prove this.

  • Evidence of a standardized test (GMAT or GRE)

    In addition to the previous requirements, applicants must provide proof of a “Graduate Management Admission Test” (GMAT) score of at least 600 or “Graduate Record Examinations” (GRE) score of at least 155 on the quantitative section and 145 on the verbal section. If an applicant submits test results for both tests, only the better of the two will be considered for the entire admission process.

  • Proof of English language skills

    Proof of English language skills is mandatory for the application to the Master's program in Business Administration. Applicants with English as their native language are exempt from this requirement.

    Examples of evidence of advanced English language skills may include:

    • Study/semester/internship abroad in an English-speaking country (or, in the case of stays in a non-English-speaking country, official proof that English was the language of instruction or business).
    • Fully English-language bachelor's degree in Germany/ in a non-English-speaking country
    • One of the following official language certificates: TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, Cambridge or comparable (from level C1)  

     

    Applicants are required to hand in documents in order to substantiate their claims relating to their linguistic competence. Vague and general references to languages in a CV will not be deemed sufficient. English learnt at school or English courses at university are not taken into consideration. Only credentials obtained through a test whose last test date is no more than 2 years past the deadline for applications will be accepted.


Admission criteria:

Applicants who meet the subject-specific and language requirements are deemed eligible for selection and are awarded points for their strengths and achievements. The maximum number of points that can be awarded to each applicant is 100. The strengths and achievements that are taken into consideration are as follows:

Access allocation:

Should the number of applicants meeting the admission criteria exceed the number of study places, a selection procedure will be carried out on the basis of a ranking list using the final grade of the first degree, the GMAT or GRE overall test score and the score of the quantitative part of the GMAT or GRE test.


Deadlines

There are two application deadlines for the Master Business Development at the University of Münster.

If you apply with your complete application documents by June 04, 2023, you will participate in the first application phase. Then you have the chance to receive an admission notice by the end of June 2023.

You did not receive an admission by the end of June? Your application will then be reviewed in the second round. The second and final application deadline is July 15, 2023. If you apply for the Master of Business Administration by this deadline, you can expect to hear back in early August.

Your grades must be presented according to the following grading scale: 1 to 1.5= very good; 1.6 to 2.5= good; 2.6 to 3.5= satisfactory; 3.6 to 4.0= sufficient; above 4.0= not sufficient. Grades that do not conform to this grading scheme must be converted.

The credit points must correspond to the ECTS system. Otherwise, they must be converted.
