Professor Bendig receives the 2026 SBE Research Prize

For his outstanding research achievements, Professor Dr. David Bendig, Head of the Institute for Entrepreneurship, was awarded the SBE Research Prize on 28 October 2026. At the celebratory award ceremony, the Dean, Professor Dr. Thomas Langer, welcomed around 70 guests at Heereman'scher Hof, alongside the prize winner and his family.

“The jury could not have chosen anyone more fitting,” began Professor Dr Nils Foege, Director of the Institute for Innovation, Strategy and Organisation, in his laudatory address. “You manage to inspire people with your research. [...] You address the important challenges of our time, such as digital transformation, sustainability transformation and innovation, to name but three. [...] You take knowledge transfer to heart. [...] And you are a very good colleague and friend.”

Following the laudatory address, Professor Dr. Johannes Becker, Vice Dean for Research and Outreach, presented the prize sculpture to Professor Dr. David Bendig. He thanked his family and, in the subsequent presentation, illustrated his thanks “to the colleagues in the CfM and to our team at the Institute for Entrepreneurship, for the collegiality at SBE and for the ecosystem in Münster and the Euregio” with concrete facts and joint projects. He also encouraged those present to exchange ideas at the subsequent reception – a request that was gladly complied with.

Since 2023, the SBE Research Prize has been awarded annually in rotation to representatives of the disciplines of Business Administration, Economics and Information Systems. In this way, the School honours professors for their outstanding research work and makes the first-class results achieved in the School even more visible.
