Prof. Dr. David Bendig, Dr. Lucas Kleine-Stegemann and Dr. Michael Mazur from the Institute for Entrepreneurship at the University of Münster have published the paper "A multi-level analysis of the relationship between formal institutions and ambitious entrepreneurship: The moderating role of economic development" in the journal International Business Review together with Prof. Dr. Florian Zapkau from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
The paper examines the impact of formal institutions on ambitious entrepreneurship. Ambitious entrepreneurship is characterized in particular by high growth ambitions and the courageous seizing of business opportunities. Based on an institutional perspective, the paper sheds light on cross-national differences in the triggers of ambitious entrepreneurship and shows that regulatory efficiency and freedom of trade are positively related to ambitious entrepreneurship. The research thus provides economic food for thought on how to support ambitious entrepreneurs.
