Prof. Dr. David Bendig, Dr. Colin Schulz, Dr. Lukas Theis and Dr. Stefan Raff recently published their article "Digital orientation and environmental performance in times of technological change" in the journal of Technological Forecasting and Social Change (Volume 188, March 2023, 122272).

The article deals with a current and very interesting topic: When companies have a strong digital strategy, it correlates positively with their environmental performance. This effect is particularly pronounced in technologically turbulent environments. 

Digitalization is increasingly seen as a strategic means for companies to achieve competitive and environmental advantages. However, current empirical research does not yet provide sufficient evidence on how a company's strategic attitude toward digitalization is related to environmental performance. This study examines the relationship between digital orientation and environmental performance and the moderating role of technological turbulence. In doing so, the authors offer practical guidance for strategies to transition to the digital economy in their publication.
