Last Friday, we held the second edition of our Financial Modelling Workshop with Rödl & Partner. Together with Felix Lecher and Felix Wolter from the Transaction & Valuation Services team in Hamburg, this year’s team for the John Molson MBA International Case Competition, and several of our student research assistants, worked intensively on a valuation case in the context of an M&A transaction.

The workshop covered the fundamentals of business modelling in Excel, including the derivation of investment planning, working capital changes, and free cash flow based on the balance sheet and P&L, and the derivation of the WACC and a DCF-based valuation of the case company.
