Course contents Students work on a current research question in the field of Strategic Management as part of an individual written paper. The results are presented and defended in plenary. In doing so, students organize themselves to discuss and exchange their research findings. The topics originate from the overarching research area of strategic management and address current business-related problems and phenomena. Recent research findings are thus to be integrated into teaching and discussed extensively. Students' own empirical or theoretical-methodological analyses, as well as the inclusion of international aspects, are consistently encouraged. The overarching goal is to combine theoretical concepts with practice-oriented applications and to lay the foundation for independent academic work.
Skills acquired Students are able to produce an independent academic paper and defend it within the framework of a critical academic discussion. Depending on the research question, students apply qualitative-analytical or formal-methodological tools. In addition, students have mastered the key competencies relevant in this context, with a particular emphasis on communication and rhetorical skills.
Examination Seminar paper (approx. 25 pages, excl. bibliography and appendix) - 60%, as well as presentation, defense, and discussion of the seminar paper - 40%
