Process

Registrations for master's theses are done via the examinations office.

Before registering, please note the information below about the procedure at our chair.

Step 1: Pre-selection of the topic
Here you can get an overview of potential research foci and topics in which Master's theses are currently offered. We are generally open to your own suggestions for topics that are not directly included in the list but are related to our main research areas.

Step 2: Contact us
If you would like more information about a topic or have already decided on a topic, please contact  Dr. Felix Hoch using this form. If necessary, more detailed questions about the topics can be clarified in a monthly Zoom meeting with all interested students. You will then be assigned to your individual supervisor.

Step 3: Individual supervision & registration
Now you can contact your supervisor to prepare the start of your thesis ("Themenausgabe"). Starting your thesis can take place digitally or in person at the chair. Please submit a completed guidance card ("Leitkarte") to your supervisor.
For more information on registering the thesis and calculating the deadline, please visit the page of the examination office.
While preparing to start your thesis, we will also add you to a course in Learnweb, where you will find all further information, formal requirements, as well as helpful tips on topics from literature research to the submission of your thesis.
