After four years at the University of Münster, Prof. Dr. Julia Backmann is moving on to a new chapter. On September 1, she joined the University of St. Gallen as Professor and Co-Director of the Institute for Leadership and Human Resource Management (IFPM).

🔍 Since coming to Münster in August 2022, Julia has led the Chair for Transformation of Work and served as Co-Director of ChanCe. Her research focuses on how social and technological change transforms work, including new forms of teamwork, artificial intelligence, leadership, and organizational change.

📅 One particularly visible part of this work is the scientific evaluation of the German pilot study on the Four-Day Work Week, led by Julia and her team. The project has contributed to the broader discussion on how new ways of working affect organizations and employees.

🤝 Her doctoral students Simona Töpfer, Johannes Hüby, and Beatrice Schuldt are also joining Julia in St. Gallen. Together, they will continue their research on the transformation of work at the IFPM.
