Research focus on banks

For more than 25 years, the Institute of Banking at the University of Münster has held a workshop in the fall at which seven research papers on banking topics are presented. Each paper is presented in a time frame of 60 minutes in total, including the presentation itself, a co-presentation and a general discussion. "This intensive engagement with the topics is highly appreciated by all participant:s" comments Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Andreas Pfingsten as organizer of the format.

This year, again at the Johanniter Academy in Münster, PD Dr. Thomas Kick from the Deutsche Bundesbank was responsible for the program:

In 2023, a total of 27 people from 13 institutions in 4 different countries participated. Special recognition was given to three of them:

As presenter of the best paper:

  • Klaus Schaeck, Ph.D. (University of Bristol) (co-authored with Larissa Fuchs (University of Cologne), Huyen Nguyen, Ph.D., (IWH and University of Jena), and Trang Nguyen, Ph.D.).

For the best discussions of the essays presented:

  • Talina Sondershaus (Lund University)
  • Paul Hark (Finance Center Münster)

The workshop was again a very productive exchange for all participants, during which, in addition, existing contacts could be intensified and new ones established in many conversations on the sidelines.
