Profile
In the field of business management, the triad of strategic orientation, economic incentives, and organizational behavior is indispensable for the analysis and development of successful organizational and strategic concepts. With this in mind, the Center for Management (CfM) imparts theoretically sound and empirically gained knowledge of strategic management.
The management specialization covers topics such as corporate structure design, strategic corporate management, human resource management, and innovation management. A wide range of topics are addressed, including environmental and competitive analysis, value chain analysis, and strategic portfolio management, as well as relevant theories and models of human resource management and corporate organization. In addition to knowledge in formal-analytical and empirical areas, the focus is on imparting practice-oriented knowledge: Students work on real case studies, engage in intensive discussions with representatives from the business world, and participate in business games and company excursions. The practical topics covered range from planning the launch of a new business to analyzing the development of an employer brand.
