Crediting of courses taken abroad

The recognition of academic achievements completed abroad is generally possible, provided that the courses taken correspond to the courses offered by the CfM chairs in Münster in terms of key criteria. The decisive factors here are the comparability of the learning objectives, the academic level, and the workload required. Several courses taken abroad can also be combined to ensure similarity with a CfM course.

Application

You can apply for the equivalence of courses taken abroad via the CfM recognition team's  Learnweb course “EquiCheck.” There you will fill out the “Application for Equivalency Check” form.

To process your application, we need the following information about the course taken abroad:

  • Course name
  • Course ID
  • Syllabus (as a link or PDF)
  • Number of credits or ECTS

The processing time for credit transfer applications is usually three to four weeks. Students should therefore plan their stay abroad in good time and submit the documents early.

General information on the transfer of credits for courses taken abroad can be found on the department's credit transfer website. The Learnweb course “EquiCheck” contains the application procedure for CfM courses as well as further information and FAQs on credit transfer and application.
