FCM-Summer Seminar 2026

on Ameland, Netherlands

The 2026 FCM Summer Seminar took nearly 25 students and research assistants, alongside Prof. Langer and Prof. Schneider, to the idyllic island of Ameland in the Netherlands for one week. Surrounded by the North Sea and dune beaches, everyone enjoyed a great time in Ballum.

Students and staff had the opportunity to participate in several joint activities. Among other things, they played bubble football, visited a climbing park, went kayaking, and competed in paintball. The final evening concluded with a mudflat hiking tour together.

In the evenings, the students presented their seminar papers and led discussions on topics ranging from Large Language Models in Finance and Accounting and the pricing of Carbon Emissions to elicitation methods for Cumulative Prospect Theory parameters. On Sunday evening, there was also a pub quiz following a joint public viewing of the World Cup match "Germany vs. Curaçao" together with the Finanz Informatik. The next morning, students had the opportunity to get to know the company even better and discuss their questions.

We would like to thank Sabrina Knuf and Jona Grontzki for the great time and the support of the FCM Summer Seminar!
