Workshop: Decision Making and Information Processing in Complex Settings
At the end of April, our colleagues Yannick Wilner and Jonas Backhus participated in the workshop “Decision Making and Information Processing in Complex Settings” at IMT in Lucca, Italy. The program included presentations and in-depth discussions on current issues in decision-making and information processing. As part of the workshop, they presented two projects (both joint work with Michael Goedde-Menke, Thorsten Hennig-Thurau, and Thomas Langer): “Toward Better Estimates: The Wisdom of Physical vs. Virtual Crowds” and “Unboxing the Black Box: Estimation Processes in Physical and Virtual Crowds.” The exchange with speakers and other participants provided a valuable opportunity to receive feedback and gain new perspectives for their research. In addition to the academic program, they also took the opportunity to enjoy life in Lucca and explore the birthplace of Giacomo Puccini. To mark the 100th anniversary of the opera “Turandot,” a special exhibition was also held at the Puccini Museum.
