Summa cum laude honors

for Dr. Pascal Büsing

Dr. Pascal Büsing, a former doctoral student at the Chair of Finance, was awarded the university's dissertation prize last Friday for his dissertation entitled “Reference Points and Expectations in Financial Decision Making”, which he submitted at the beginning of the year. The Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Johannes Wessels, traditionally invites all doctoral candidates who have completed their dissertation with the highest grade in the previous year to the summa-cum-laude award ceremony. And one doctoral candidate from each department - there were eleven summa cum laude graduates from FB 4, Business and Economics - is awarded the University's Dissertation Prize in special recognition of their achievements. In Dr. Büsing's case, the selection committee was probably particularly impressed by the fact that he was able to publish two of his articles in prestigious A journals so soon after completing his dissertation. Congratulations from the Finance Center to Pascal Büsing.
