The exam inspectations of the Chair of Finance for the winter semester 2024/25 will take place on April 2, 2025 in J490 of the Juridicum, in the time from 15:00 to 18:00.

On January 30th, several students and staff members from the Finance Center Münster had the opportunity to participate in a Bloomberg training session at the premises of Ärzteversorgung Westfalen-Lippe. During the training, participants familiarized themselves with the many functions of the Bloomberg Terminal and worked on small case studies related to stock market and ESG data. Additionally, members of the Finance Center Münster had the chance to exchange ideas with portfolio managers from Ärzteversorgung Westfalen-Lippe about their use of the Bloomberg Terminal.
On January 7, 2025, Remondis hosted an engaging event on the topic of M&A in a Sustainable Business Context, inviting participants from the Finest in Finance program of the University of Münster. Held on their campus in Lünen, the event provided insights into how sustainability shapes M&A strategies and decisions.
On January 21, the members of the Finest in Finance program at the University of Münster had the opportunity to participate in an exciting case study on corporate valuation hosted by Grant Thornton.
The annual workshop of the Finance Center Münster took place on January 17th this year. Provinzial Asset Management, Moody’s Ratings, Simon-Kucher, and Ärzteversorgung Westfalen-Lippe provided exciting case studies. The master students worked on different cases in groups throughout the day and presented their results in the evening.
In December, Alexander Nitschke represented the FCM at the World Finance & Banking Symposium in Abu Dhabi. There, he presented the research project “Female Leaders, Stable Banks? Executive Gender and the Two Perspectives of Banks’ Systemic Risk“. In addition to interesting academic presentations, there was also the opportunity to participate in a desert safari with a subsequent Arabic buffet.
In early January 2025, our colleagues Prof. Dr. Christoph Schneider, Elissa Iorgulescu and Jan Harren had the opportunity to attend and present their latest research projects in the PhD Poster Session at the American Finance Conference (AFA), part of the 2025 ASSA Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California.

Dr. Pascal Büsing, a former doctoral student at the Chair of Finance, was awarded the university's dissertation prize last Friday for his dissertation entitled “Reference Points and Expectations in Financial Decision Making”, which he submitted at the beginning of the year. The Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Johannes Wessels, traditionally invites all doctoral candidates who have completed their dissertation with the highest grade in the previous year to the summa-cum-laude award ceremony.
