On November 21, 2024, the Finest in Finance program of the University of Münster had the pleasure of hosting an engaging event in collaboration with Capcora, diving deep into the topic of M&A in the Renewable Energy Sector. The event brought together industry professionals for insightful discussions on trends, opportunities, and challenges in this dynamic field.
SFA Conference

At the end of November, our colleagues Fiona Höllmann, Constantin Schneider, and Paul Friedrich Hark participated in the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Southern Finance Association (SFA) in Palm Beach, Florida. In addition to the exciting discussions and interesting presentations, there was time to explore the natural parks and nearby cities in US’ sunshine state.

5th ACM International Conference on AI in Finance

Yahya Yilmaz and Constantin Schneider participated in world´s first Workshop on LLMs and Generative AI for Finance and the 5th ACM International Conference on AI in Finance held in New York. The event offered an unique opportunity to explore advancements in deep learning and artificial intelligence modeling. In addition to engaging workshops, tutorials, and paper presentations on AI, there was also time to explore the vibrant and dynamic city of New York.
Falkensteg Workshop

On November 6, 2024, we held our first event in collaboration with Falkensteg. A team from the management consultancy with Maximilian Schneider, Silas Langer and Felix Rausch presented practical case studies on distressed M&A and restructuring, giving participants the opportunity to apply their strategic and analytical skills. Following the presentations, participants enjoyed a relaxed dinner at Spatzl am Aasee, which provided a perfect atmosphere for networking and deeper conversations.
Banking research workshop

Just over a week ago, the annual banking research workshop took place again in Münster. Organized by Klaus Scheck (University of Bristol) and Christoph Schneider, many interesting topics in the field of financial intermediation were discussed. Guests from universities in Germany, France, the UK, the Netherlands and Switzerland presented and discussed current research projects for two days.

Annual Meeting of the "DGF"

This year’s annual meeting of the “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Finanzwirtschaft” (DGF) took place in the beautiful City of Aachen, organized and hosted by RWTH Aachen and FH Aachen. Nicole Branger, Christoph Schneider, Timo Wiedemann, Jan Harren, Paul Friedrich Hark, and Fiona Hoellmann from the Finance Center Münster presented their work on a huge variety of finance topics. Our FCM team enjoyed the fruitful discussions and was delighted to make new contacts, meet up with friends, and intensify research collaborations.
