Guest Lecture in the Finance Research Seminar

by Professor Craig R. Fox

We were delighted to welcome Professor Craig R. Fox (Harold Williams Professor of Management, and also Professor of Psychology and Medicine at UCLA) to our Finance Research Seminar.
In his engaging talk on “Two Dimensions of Subjective Uncertainty”, he discussed the important distinction between aleatory uncertainty -uncertainty due to inherent randomness - and epistemic uncertainty - uncertainty stemming from limited knowledge. His insights shed light on how individuals understand and navigate these different forms of uncertainty, with broad implications for decision-making and behavioral finance.
Throughout the day, we had many valuable opportunities for one-on-one conversations and engaging group discussions. It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and gain new insights.
