Lloyd Kurtz is affiliated with the Center for Responsible Business, Haas School of Business, U.C. Berkeley, and is a lecturer in finance at Santa Clara University. He is currently Head of Social and Impact Investing for Wells Fargo Wealth Management, after serving for 12 years as CIO at Nelson Capital Management, a money management firm affiliated with Wells Fargo. Prior to that he was Director of Quantitative Research at Harris Bretall Sullivan & Smith, a San Francisco-based money management firm; and Senior Research Analyst at KLD Research & Analytics, where he helped develop the first broad-based social index in the U.S., now known as the MSCI KLD 400.
Lloyd Kurtz is teaching the class “Socially Responsible Investing” for master students. This class reviews how social investment products are designed and marketed, and explore how ESG (environmental, social, and governance) factors are measured and incorporated into modern investment strategies.
