An innovative curriculum.

The Bachelor's program "Economics" is a dual course of study in the two-subject Bachelor's program, so that you study the contents of economics together with another subject - both subjects are studied in equal parts. For this purpose, you can choose any subject that is also offered with the degree of a two-subject bachelor - except political science. The subprogram "Economics" can be studied either in a subject-specific variant (profile Economics) or in a teaching-qualification variant (profile Social Sciences). Depending on the chosen profile, the study program has a different structure. The profile can be changed once after admission.

In the economics profile, you first complete the basic courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics and economic policy analysis. Basic courses in business administration and business ethics are also part of the curriculum. Afterwards, you can choose between many different courses in economics in the elective area, and thus set your own focus, from poverty reduction to environmental and resource economics, or innovation economics to statistics or monetary and financial policy. A master's degree in economics can be added subsequently to the program.

In the Social Sciences profile, the basic courses in microeconomics and macroeconomics are studied, as well as the fundamentals of business administration. In addition to methodology courses, there is also content from the subjects of political science and sociology, as well as courses in subject didactics, in order to round off the social science education. It makes sense to follow the bachelor's degree with a Master of Education program to complete your teacher training.

All two-subject bachelor's degrees at WWU are supplemented by so-called General Studies, in which students can choose from a wide range of courses. You can, for example, choose language courses or get a taste of other subjects beyond your own subject boundaries.
