CEAT meets EY

In July 2026, one stop of our initiative CEAT took the participants to EY in Dortmund. At the offices located directly on Lake Phoenix, the students were welcomed with a varied programme that combined technical depth with hands-on insights into the work of an internationally operating tax advisory firm.

The technical part of the day focused on two highly topical areas of tax advisory practice. First, the students gained a well-founded insight into the tax-related aspects of M&A transactions and learned about the tax structuring potential inherent in company acquisitions and disposals. The second thematic focus was on transfer pricing – a field that is steadily gaining importance due to the increasing regulation in international tax law.

Following the technical programme, a visit to Signal Iduna Park rounded off the day. During an exclusive stadium tour, the participants gained access to areas usually hidden from the public – from the players' tunnel to the stadium's holding cells. The closing part of the day provided space for personal conversations and informal exchange with the representatives of EY.

Our sincere thanks go to Jörg Schlüter, Stefan Willers, Juliane Sassmann, Marie-Christin Tegt and Michael Kleene for organising a technically demanding and thoroughly successful day, which offered the participants valuable insights into the practice of international tax advisory.
