The DTM Working Group

Working Group “Digital Technologies in Management” (DTM)

The DTM working group has brought together research, teaching, and transfer at the intersection of management, digital technologies, and data-based systems since 2020. The working group is based at the Institute of Entrepreneurship at the University of Münster and collaborates with decentralized institutes, including Information, Telecommunications, and Media Law, as well as the REACH Euregio Start-up Center.

In its research, the DTM working group examines digital value creation and innovation processes and explores how generative models, language and image processing, and other data-driven methods influence organizations and innovation. In addition to empirical impact analyses, the group places particular emphasis on the prototypical testing of technological solutions in real-world application contexts. Methodologically, the working group combines quantitative empirical research, computational analytical methods, and software prototyping into an integrated research approach and translates its findings into practice-oriented transfer formats.

In addition, the DTM working group develops and supports practice-oriented teaching and project formats. Together with internal and external partners, it creates operational applications, ranging from automation solutions and agentic AI systems to low-code-based business applications, which are tested in productive settings and systematically evaluated with regard to their organizational and strategic implications. This combination of technology and business analysis also strengthens the application-oriented profile of the Center for Management.
