The research foci of the members of CQE include the areas of international economics, monetary economics, quantitative aspects of economic history, the theory and empirics of international financial markets, and the development of econometric methods for financial markets. The research of the CQE is internationally oriented, and members strive for publication in highly ranked scientific journals.

The CQE regularly organizes the Economic Research Seminar and, in collaboration with its international partners, relevant economic workshops. Both the Economic Research Seminar and the workshops provide presentation and discussion fora for selected international scientists and the results of their latest research.
