From automation to symbiosis: How generative AI is reshaping knowledge work
As part of the Paper Development Workshop in Bern, which brought together selected PhD researchers working on human–AI collaboration in organizational contexts, ChanCe researcher Letizia Tschetsche presented her ongoing research on generative AI (GenAI) in knowledge work.
Focusing on reputation-sensitive, cross-functional settings such as corporate communication, where teams take on quality assurance roles for corporate communication, her work examines how generative AI is embedded in everyday workflows and how it reconfigures professional roles and interactions.
💡 Key insights
Initial insights suggest that while generative AI supports tasks such as content drafting, translation, and refinement, it also increases coordination demands across departments and reinforces the importance of human oversight.
🤝 Exchange & collaboration
The workshop enabled valuable exchange with an international research community, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary perspectives and close collaboration between research and practice.
At ChanCe, we are particularly interested in these dynamics at the intersection of technology, work, and organizational transformation – and how they unfold in real-world contexts together with partners such as BASF Coatings.
