Sustainability Reporting in the Public Sector (SoSe 24)
Just like companies, the public sector is also faced with the challenge of reporting on the sustainability of its activities. Climate protection, in particular, is a core responsibility of the public sector, as derived from Article 20a of the German Basic Law.
The new EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) incorporates numerous aspects of Environment (E), Social (S), and Governance (G). The first set of European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) includes ten topics, one of which was independently developed by students in relation to the University of Münster. For this purpose, they gathered, assessed, and presented relevant information.
-
Sustainability Reporting in Basketball (WiSe 23/24)
An increasing number of companies and organizations are facing the challenge of reporting on their sustainability activities. This development is driven by the introduction of the new EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
As part of this project, students conducted both a readiness and a gap analysis for the Uni Baskets. Based on these analyses, they developed recommendations for the club’s future approach to implementing its sustainability initiatives.
-
Sustainability Reporting in Football (WiSe 23/24)
With the new EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), companies are required to make their sustainability efforts more transparent. In this context, the German Football League (DFL) has introduced a sustainability guideline that all clubs in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga must implement.
Within this project, student teams conducted both a readiness and a gap analysis for SC Preußen Münster. The focus was on assessing the extent to which the club already complies with the DFL sustainability guideline and identifying areas where improvements are still needed.
These seminars were conducted by apl. Prof. Dr. Sonja Gensler in cooperation with KPMG, whose staff contributed valuable support and expertise.
