Economics (discontinued)
The University of Münster has developed a model known as the dual major BA. This model, which cuts across disciplinary boundaries, is designed in such a way that two different subjects can be combined and supplemented by General Studies. The Centre for Interdisciplinary Economic Research contributes the economic part of the programme, which focuses on fundamental aspects of economics as well as subject-specific methods. As they have studied economics in conjunction with a non-economic subject, graduates of the dual major BA programme possess a unique blend of cross-disciplinary knowledge and have a better chance of securing a job than if they had taken a single BA course in a subject having little relevance to economics. After completing the dual major BA programme, they can also pursue their studies in a subject unrelated to economics or opt for a Master’s degree course in business administration or economics.
