Institute of International Economics
The Institute of International Economics at the University of Muenster in Germany was established in 2008. Head of the Institute is Professor Bernd Kempa.
The Institute offers courses in the core areas of International Trade and International Finance. The course "Außenwirtschaft" as part of the German-language module "Makroökonomik III" offers an overview of the field.
The Bachelor module "International Economics" analyzes the effects of the globalization process on international output, factor and financial markets, and introduces the core models of international trade and finance. The Master module "Advanced International Economics" surveys recent advances in theoretic and quantitative methods in the field of International Economics and provides students with the necessary technical tools for an understanding of scientific papers.
The research activities of the institute comprise theoretic and empirical studies in the fields of monetary macroeconomics, international financial markets, and monetary policy in open economies.
