Haniel

Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH is a German family-owned equity company that has been based in Duisburg-Ruhrort since its foundation in 1756. From there, the wholly family-owned holding company manages a diversified portfolio and pursues a long-term investment strategy as a value developer. The Haniel portfolio currently comprises five business areas, each of which is independently responsible for its own operations and holds a leading market position in its respective field: Bekaert Textiles, CWS-boco, ELG, TAKKT, and METRO GROUP.

The CfM cooperates with Haniel as part of the “Leadership and Management in the Group” program. In the summer semester, Haniel board member Dr. Florian Funck holds a series of lectures on strategic corporate management at Haniel. Following this, participants work in groups on real Haniel case studies and present their findings to the Haniel board for discussion in the subsequent winter semester.
