Abstract
Transparency describes the quality of information perceived by an information recipient. The construct is increasingly gaining attention in the scientific and practical context. The dimensionsDisclosure,ClarityandAccuracyas well asTimelinessandRelevanceform individuals’ transparency perceptions. Based on these dimensions, a German questionnaire with 20 items with four items for each dimension was presented. This five-dimensional scale shows high internal consistency (> .88) and indicators for objectivity, reliability, and validity (content, criterion, and construct validity) are available. The validation study indicates that transparency dimensions differ with regard to their relationship to trustworthiness, trust and job satisfaction. In addition, first investigations show that the scale can be applied in contexts outside the organization.
