Co-determination in Cultural Organisations

Most cultural institutions or organisations with artistic standards, such as theatres and orchestras, are co-determined at the plant-level. However, they are subject to limitations as tendential companies, in particular, non-artists should not have a say in artistic matters, which is why there are separate representative bodies for artists. Moreover, the constitutionally protected freedom of art is directly relevant in public companies and protects the artistic area. In addition to those who create culture, the art itself and its recipients can also benefit from co-determination.
