Master: “Seminar on Innovation Economics”

Winter Term 2025/26

How do new technologies such as artificial intelligence or modern robots affect economies? What role does education play in a "knowledge economy"? How can innovation be promoted? In this seminar, we deal with microeconomic literature on the current challenges of knowledge societies. The topics include the impacts of new technologies on labor markets, incentives for innovation, as well as economic opportunities and problems arising from digitalization. The methodological focus of the seminar is empirical.

In this seminar, you will first present your topic (scheduled for November 21, 2025) and discuss it with the group of seminar participants. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to incorporate the feedback from the presentation into your seminar paper. The deadline for submitting the seminar papers is in January 2026. The exact date will be announced.

Interested? Then please sign up by sending an email to inno@wiwi.uni-muenster.de, indicating a ranked list of your three preferred topics (see PDF) for the seminar. Topics will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is possible until September 30th, 2025. You will find further information and literature references in the Learnweb course, into which you will be enrolled after your registration.
