Dr. Susanne Cassel
Dr. Susanne Cassel, born in 1969, studied Economics at the Universities of Bochum, Paris IX-Dauphine and Freiburg, where she received her doctorate in 2000 with a thesis on the institutional economic analysis of scientific advice to economic policy. In 2007, she completed a two-year Master's degree in Public Administration at the Harvard Kennedy School - J.F. Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge, USA. From 1995-2001 she was a research assistant in the department of Economic Policy at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg. Since 2001, she has been working at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy: first as a consultant in various departments of the policy department, then as personal consultant to the State Secretaries Dr. Bernd Pfaffenbach and Stefan Kapferer. Since end of 2012, she has been heading up the department "Coordination, Federal States, Information and Dialogue" in the Energy Policy - Electricity and Networks Department. In addition, she is a chairwoman of ECONWATCH - Gesellschaft für Politikanalyse e.V. and lecturer at the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics at Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf.
