Student life up close: experience the most exciting student events
First-class orientation at the start of your studies: NRW's largest orientation week offers a perfect mix of academic introduction, exciting activities and unforgettable parties to start your studies in Münster with new friendships. Sport and fun are also combined: the annual WiWi Cup is a traditional, faculty-internal soccer tournament in which teams from departments and student initiatives compete in exciting competitions. Students can keep fit and strengthen the community at the Leonardo Campus Run. The Symposium Oeconomicum Münster is an important business congress organized by students. On this day, all students have free time to take part in exciting discussions and lectures with renowned personalities from various fields. The Student Council of Economics and various other student initiatives regularly organize legendary semester parties that provide unforgettable experiences. In addition to these events, there are parties at which over 15 renowned professors DJ in the clubs at Hawerkamp and donate part of the entrance fees to a good cause. The local Oktoberfest was voted the best in NRW by 1Live and the best north of the Weisswurst equator by RTL. The parties on May 1st at Lake Aa and in the city are also highlights in Münster's calendar of events and ensure a rousing party atmosphere. The Aasee with its characteristic spheres is a popular student meeting place for activity and relaxation in equal measure - whether playing spikeball with friends, enjoying the view of the sunset or strolling along the shore. Unfortunately, you can't swim in the Aasee, but you can take pedal boats across the water, listen to music and enjoy the scenery from the lake. For a special excursion, you can even take the municipal water cab and go directly to the zoo or learn to sail on the Aasee. In addition to the Aasee, there is also the canal, which is popular in summer. It is ideal for relaxing in the sun in summer and provides the perfect way to cool off at the edge of the canal.
