Studying in Special Situations

Student Parents

Student parents have special needs. Since it is not always easy to combine studies with childcare, the University of Münster provides support for students with small children. Further information can be found here.

If you are struggling to balance your parental responsabilities with your studies, you may be allowed to opt out of an examination after the opt-out deadline has expired. Such exceptions are made in cases where a child is taken ill and needs care. Please contact the Examinations Office of the School of Business and Economics for advice.

Pregnant students or students with children are welcome to contact our advisor if they have any questions:

Disabled Students

Students who are physically handicapped or suffering from a chronic illness often have to expend additional time or energy in order to attain their goals. The University of Münster provides special advice and information for these students.

Thus, for instance, disabled students who have to take an exam will be offered places in a lecture theatre which they will be able to get to without undue difficulty. They may also be allowed extra time to answer examination questions. Please contact the Examinations Office of the School of Business and Economics for advice.
