Ensuring a sustainable future requires anchoring sustainability firmly within strategies and structures. We have taken several important steps in this direction and actively contribute to university-wide initiatives.
- We are a member of the PRME network, a United Nations initiative promoting responsible and environmentally sustainable management education. By joining, we have committed to aligning our teaching, study programs, and research projects with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- As one of only 13 business schools in Germany, our faculty has been accredited by AACSB since 2011. This recognition reflects our adherence to international standards in business education. Sustainability and the societal relevance of our activities are therefore subject to regular external review.
- In 2021, we created the position of a dedicated Director of Sustainability, firmly embedding sustainability within our faculty structures.
- We share the goals of the jointly developed Mission Statement of the University of Münster and actively contribute to implementing the university’s sustainability strategy, which addresses the key areas of research, teaching, knowledge transfer, and operations.
- We are part of cross-disciplinary networks such as the Center for Interdisciplinary Sustainability Research, where scholars contribute analytical, evaluative, integrative, and practical perspectives to public debates.
- Within the University of Münster’s Impact Areas, we collaborate with partner universities, companies, schools, and organizations to develop solutions to today’s complex challenges.
- We participate in the university-wide Sustainability Day CAMPUS EARTH and, as part of the University of Münster, contribute to the Münster Climate City Contract—an initiative signes by more than 130 institutions and companies.
