    Prof. Lloyd Kurtz is a leading expert in the field of Socially Responsible Investing (SRI). He is currently a Visiting Scholar at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Previously, he taught for many years in the areas of Finance, SRI, and Corporate Governance at the Haas School of Business (University of California, Berkeley) and the Leavey School of Business (Santa Clara University).

    In addition to his teaching activities, Prof. Kurtz serves as Co-Chair of the Moskowitz Prize and is a member of the decision committee of the Impact & Sustainable Finance Faculty Consortium. He also has extensive practical experience in the field of SRI. He currently serves as Senior Portfolio Manager at Montecito Bank & Trust and previously headed Social Impact Investing at Wells Fargo Private Bank.

    In the Summer Semester 2026, the Chair of Sustainable Finance (Prof. Dr. Nadja Guenster) will once again offer the course “Socially Responsible Investing” (SRI), taught by Lloyd Kurtz. This master's-level course provides insights into sustainable investment decision-making based on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria. In addition to an introduction to sustainable investment products, the course includes a group project in which students analyze and evaluate the sustainable investment strategies of international equity funds.
