Project meeting of the BMBF-funded project "ClimLabels" in Bochum

ClimLabels is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) under the funding guideline "Climate Protection and Financial Markets"

On October 23rd, 2023, the project team met at Ruhr University Bochum to discuss progress and set new goals. We are particularly grateful for the valuable contributions made by our advisory board members Roland Kölsch, Martin G. Viehöver, and Jon Gallop, as well as the support provided by Markus Baudisch and Oliver Dilly from the project sponsor DLR.

The agenda included internal updates, joint discussions, and presentations on two working papers: "Financing the Economic Transition - On the Role of Labels for Retail Investors" and "Transition Products: Conceptual Clarity & Implementation Guidance." The feedback received from the advisory board was extremely helpful and revealed further development opportunities. Martin G. Viehöver gave a presentation on the "Science-Based Targets" approach for positive impacts, and our research on transition finance products sparked a lively discussion about the importance of different product categories within sustainability finance disclosure regulations.
