Academy of Management Conference 2025

We were once again represented at the Academy of Management (AoM) Conference this year – this time in Copenhagen, Denmark. 🇩🇰

Here we had the opportunity to present our latest research findings, exchange ideas with other scientists from around the world, and gather lots of new inspiration for future research. Our team presented the following contributions at the conference:

Together with Silja Hartmann and Constanze Eib, Julia Backmann organized a workshop on „Finding a Job in Europe“ as part of the AOM OB Global Committee. The panelists Nicole Ferry, Chia-Huei Wi, Brooke Grazdag, Dana Unger and Laurence Romani shared their experiences on applying for and securing a job in a variety of places in Europe.

Silja Hartmann, Julia Bachmann and Stefan Razinskas introduced their new research on “The Role of Daily Psychological safety in Recovery within Multi-Team Membership Environments” as part of the Symposium on „Individual Experiences in Multiple Team Membership Arrangements: New Theoretical Directions.“

Felix Hoch presented a joint paper co-authored by Julia Backmann on political events included in the symposium on " Leading People in Times of Political Polarization."

Julia Backmann und Felix Hoch organized a symposium entitled „Worktime: Dynamics and Implications of Alternative Work Schedules.“ Tom Kelemen discussed the findings and provided future research directions based on the following contributions:

  • "Less Time, More Support: Understanding Creative Change Support in Worktime Reduction" presented by Marika Platz and co-authored by Nils Foege
  • “Why do Women and Those with Lower Income Value a Four Day Week More? Evidence from Portugal” presented by Rita Fontinha and co-authored by Predro Gomes
  • "Balancing the Scales: The Impact of Worktime Reduction on Stress, Recovery, and Job Performance" presented by Johannes Hüby and co-authored by Matthias Sinnemann, Felix Hoch, and Julia Backmann

Matthias Sinnemann presented the paper "The Digital Nomad Duality: Exploring Working While Traveling Within a Demands-Resource Perspective" and together with his doctoral supervisor Matthias Weiss, Matthias Sinnemann presented the Paper "The Rewards Paradox: How Incentives Spark Creativity but Fuel Idea Rejection"

Overall, the conference offered many special impressions and we look forward to the next Academy of Management Conference in 2026. 🌟
