Abstract
Commercial Organ Trade from an Economic Point of View
Organ transplantations are permitted and desired in Germany. However, organ trade is forbidden. This needs an explanation at least for economists. Thereto different kinds of organs are analysed separately. If the scarcity of transplantable organs can be overcome with financial incentives they should be used. Otherwise undesired distributional effects can be an argument against commercial organ trade and for rationing by only medical criteria.
