Abstract

Mediated Knowledge

Rationalists and empiricists debated whether humans acquire knowledge primarily through their own thinking or through perception. Both play a role, yet most knowledge is mediated by other people, a fact that holds true in science as well. This can lead to errors and deceptions, though these can be mitigated. Artifical intelligence is now also playing a part in the transmission of knowledge.
