Sein Kurs “ „Topics in Economic History“ im Rahmen des Strukturierten Promotionsstudiums fand großen Anklang bei den Promovierenden des Fachbereichs. Die Inhalte des Kurses waren vielfältig, z.B “Trust as an economic concept – Lessons from the history of corporate organization”, “Changing Governance in the Banking Industry – Lessons from the Past”, “British Industrial Revolution – How technology changed corporate structures?”, “Growth in the 19th century – What determined its development?” Die Stoßrichtung der Diskussionen bestand sowohl in der Analyse der Frage, ob die historischen Beispiele auch für heutige Entwicklungen Erkenntnisse liefern können als auch in der Entwicklung von Argumentationsskizzen durch die Doktoranden, die die Grundlage für eine hochkarätige Publikation bilden können.
