Welcome to the Institute of Spatial and Housing Economics!

Our institute (which celebrated its 85th anniversary in 2014) is engaged in fundamental and current questions of spatial and housing science from an economic point of view. Recently, employment economics and labour market policy supplemented the scope of the institute’s activities. In addition, the institute offers lectures on these topics as well as on regional economy and on the history of economic theory.
The intensive business contacts of the institute are maintained by numerous third-party fund projects and by the sponsoring body , among whose members are around 70 firms, banks, and associations. The research work done in the institute is published in three different proceedings. Once a year the institute presents the Muenster Forum on Housing Economics, where recent questions of housing economics and -policy are discussed.
