In our research, we focus on two themes: sustainability, and bubbles and crises.
As part of our sustainability research, we investigate individuals’ motives for socially responsible investing (SRI) and how these motives affect their investment decisions. From a corporate perspective, we analyze how differences in environmental and social standards across firms impact their profitability and financing. We are particularly interested in understanding how non-financial goals of social entrepreneurs affect for-profit social enterprises, such as Benefit Corporations.
In our second research theme, we focus on understanding the causes of bubbles and crises and their impact on the real economy. For example, we analyze how different cultural and institutional settings mitigate or promote the occurrence of bubbles and crises.
